AEW Video Game Is In Talks
All Elite Wrestling Video Game

The Young Bucks, Matthew and Nicholas Massie, are two of the biggest names in tag team wrestling in the world today. The duo are currently heading up executive positions at All Elite Wrestling while also pulling double duty as in-ring performers. During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, the duo revealed that there are talks to bring an AEW video game to life.

The near 40 minute interview was uploaded on the Chris Van Vliet YouTube channel on July 10th, 2019. At around the 36:50 mark, Chris asked the dynamic duo if there were any talks to bring AEW to the world of interactive entertainment. You can check it out below.

Chris asks the question if there are talks to make an AEW video game and both Matt and Nick respond with… “Yes”.

It’s as simple as that.

Nick follows it up by saying…

“We’re going to have a little bit of everything.”

It’s nothing concrete about what’s to come but at least there are talks taking place, which is fantastic.

We all know we could use another competitor in the wrestling interactive entertainment arena given that right now it’s dominated by the piss-poor, recycled WWE 2K games that are basically the same thing every year with either new lighting, new models, or new moves, but it still plays exactly the same as the games from almost a decade ago.

There’s also the Fire Pro Wrestling World outing, but you have to be in a certain mood to play those games.

The last notable pro wrestling game that wasn’t a WWE title was TNA Impact: Total Nonstop Action Wrestling from Midway Studios from way back in 2008.

Unfortunately we have no details on what the new AEW game could be like or whether or not any deals have been finalized. I imagine that they’re likely looking for a publishing partner at the moment, which would mean that we probably won’t see any actual product coming to fruition until the fall of 2021, depending on what kind of game they decide to make. If it’s a Fire Pro style title with Flash animations, then they might be able to churn something out by 2020. If it’s a full-fledged 3D title, then it will likely take two to three years to complete.

But right now Nick and Matt have only confirmed that they’re in talks with making an AEW video game, so they may or may not result in anything coming out of said talks. In the meantime you can look for Fight For The Fallen to take place over the July 13th weekend. Tickets are still available over on
