With a White House summit set to take place where President Donald Trump has invited various individuals to discuss social media censorship, it must be damning for Google to have Project Veritas leak more information about their biased corporate culture against political dissidents. This time it was an e-mail spread around the company attempting to get Breitbart banned from AdSense.
Google AdSense is Google’s advertising network. It’s what they use to pay YouTubers as well as to host ads on content compliant pages. According to the leaked documents, 1,186 Google employees signed a petition to get leadership at Google to remove Breitbart from the AdSense network.
The video was published on July 10th, 2019 just a day before the White House summit. It’s only five minutes long so it won’t take up much time to drive the point home.
The relevant part of the message – dated May 23rd, 2017 – reads…
“Hi, feminist Googlers –
“I’m sure most of you are aware of the extreme sexism that articles and comments on Breitbart disseminate. For this and many other reasons, my colleagues and I have drafted an internal letter to leadership asking them to end Google’s business relationship with Breitbart and enforce AdSense policies on prohibited content.
“Please consider. And if you do agree, please ask others to sign. Our goal is to send the letter to company leadership tomorrow for their consideration. So far, 1186 Googlers have co-signed the letter. If you ‘re already one of them, thank you!”
There’s also a link to a now defunct website: http://go/nomoreadsonbreitbart/
A similar measure was actually discussed in an article by Breitbart back on February 13th, of 2018, titled “Exclusive: Leftist Google Employees Conspire To Undermine Breitbart’s Ad Revenue”.
The article notes how Google ad account manager Aidan Wilks warning another company away from advertising with Breitbart.
The article also discusses how Wilks linked AdSense clients to Sleeping Giants as a way to inform them about Breitbart. For those of you who don’t know, Sleeping Giants was responsible for getting PayPal to pull support from SubscribeStar because Tim Pool and Sargon of Akkad used it.
So this is just another instance of evidence revealing Google employees attempting to cut off funding for Breitbart via AdSense.
Coming off the heels of Project Veritas’ other leaks about Google attempting to sway the 2020 elections by manipulating search results, it looks pretty bad on Google’s end that their employees are actively advocating for deplatforming a website from AdSense because they espoused opinions that the employees didn’t like.
