Anime Expo 2019 is bringing forth a lot of games from the East to the West, insofar that Bandai Namco has announced at AX19 that Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 is coming westward exclusively to PS4 sometime in 2019.
If you are a huge mecha fan and wish to play the free-to-play game that sports team battle action, then Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 is something to look forward to this year.
I should note that although some people call it a Gacha game, some others say the second iteration in the series is not one of those egregious Gacha titles. According to people who have played the game, all of the mobile suits are available in-game for free by doing events despite having in-game purchases.
If you are up in the air regarding backing Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2, you can check out the newly posted announcement trailer:
“Do you have what it takes to become the ace pilot? Create a character, pilot your own mobile suit, and battle it out across space! MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATIONS 2 is coming to the West on PlayStation 4.”
It’s worth noting that some fans feel that this game has a power-creep issue, where newer Gundams are better than older or early mobile suits. This issue can oftentimes lead to unpleasant matches or create (objectively) better mobile suits. However, time will tell if the Western version features those problems and if the devs will seed updates to fix any issues.
If you want to play this old game that’s coming sometime this year to the West, do know that it features Six-Versus-Six online battles, Infantry Battles where Pilots can place bombs in enemy bases or request support fire to contribute to the cause, Mobile Suit customization, and a
Base Camp that lets you interact with players from around the world in an online lobby.
As noted above, Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 is coming to North America for PS4 this year.
