MXGP 2019 Introduces Custom Track Maker, Waypoint Challenge Mode

Milestone released a new trailer for the upcoming MSGP 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and on Steam for PC. The trailer focuses on an all new track editor, brand new challenges in the Waypoint Mode, and the multiplayer features.

The focus of the minute and a half long trailer is on the track creator, which is actually quite similar to the one that Milestone implemented into Monster Energy Supercross: The Video Game, where players could select a basic size template, a starting point, and then choose from a wide range of different straightaways, jumps, rivets, turns, and crossovers.

Given that you can create more than just stadium tracks in MXGP 2019, this opens up the track editor to house a lot more options and variety in the track designs, from simple mud tracks to hilly sand dunes to a bunch of dirt tracks in between.

You can check out the trailer for the feature below, which is surely going to give gamers plenty of replayability in the upcoming motorcycle racing game.

Once you get done building your track you can then share it online for others to race across, or you can compete against your friends or rivals via the online multiplayer racing mode.

In addition to being able to create and share your own tracks, you can also make use of the new Waypoint Mode, which allows you to create waypoint challenges using the playground map.

The Waypoint Mode reminds me a lot of the custom race modes in certain Halo games where each player or teams of players were required to race through each checkpoint to win the round.

You can basically ride through the map and place down the checkpoints to create a custom challenge, which you can then share online. There are also online leaderboards that will keep track of the player race times for those challenges. It reminds me a little bit of Riff Racer, where players select their music and then attempt to get the fastest times on a procedurally generated track based on their music, which other players then attempt to beat with their own score.

Milestone has plans on getting MXGP 2019 up and out for the Xbox One, PS4, and on Steam for PC starting August 27th, 2019. For more info feel free to visit the official MXGPvideogame.com website.
