It looks like Switch users will have yet another device to handle later this year or next year according to a new report. Yes, Nintendo reportedly announced a new Switch that has more battery life than its predecessors.

I’m sure most Nintendo fans and Switch users, or for that matter gamers, know of the Switch Lite, right? As its name implies, the Lite version of the Switch offers a “smaller package” with longer battery life and no detachable Joy-Cons.

Now that you know what this “Lite” version has to offer, it looks like Nintendo wants to bring more battery life with another addition to the growing Switch family of devices.

Website nintendoeverything.com reports that Model number HAC-001(-01) is the new shiny toy set to come out, and it will boast a battery life that’s almost double the amount of the first 2017 iteration. Additionally, the site also gives an example of drain rate using Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a reference point:

“Model number HAC-001(-01) will soon begin production. When it’s released, battery life will last approximately 4.5 – 9 hours. Nintendo says that Zelda: Breath of the Wild will last roughly 5.5 hours on a single charge.”

The website that sourced the following tweet also notes that battery life of the first edition lasts around 2.5 – 6.5 hours, while the Lite version has a run life of 4.5 – 9 hours and the forthcoming installment in the Switch family can last up to 3 – 7 hours.

So there you have it, there will be three Nintendo Switch devices on the market at some point and time. But, as it stands now, the duo will have to suffice those looking to buy into the Switch market until the third device makes its appearance on store shelves and the virtual market.
