Square Enix will showcase Marvel’s Avengers gameplay during its Marvel Games Panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The game that features Avengers that look like knock-off cosplay wannabes will have its gameplay revealed on July 18th.
I said it before, and I’ll say it again. The characters look like a sad parody of some sorts pretending to be the iconic heroes from the comics mashed in with some cheap version of the MCU.
Nevertheless, that’s not the only sad thing in this game, though. The action-adventure title will sport microtransactions in the form of “custom outfits” that you can purchase. So, in-game purchases are a thing.
If for some reason you want to see The Man-Widow, I mean… The Black Widow and crew face-off against universal baddies, gameplay for the 2020 game will drop next week during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con event.
The above details on this game come in via a schedule page on comiccon2019.sched.com:
“Get an inside look at the latest and greatest from Marvel Games. Attendees will see exciting new content from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Marvel’s Iron Man VR, and Marvel’s Avengers, with many unannounced surprises and panel exclusives. Moderator Greg Miller (loudmouth at KindaFunny.com) will be joined by Bill Rosemann (VP and creative director, Marvel Games) and other panelists from titles throughout the Marvel Games family.”
It’s worth noting that there are no plans on a live stream regarding the panel gameplay reveal. Additionally, the press release states that the gameplay reveal is for attendees and makes no mention of viewers at home being able to tune-in. However, I’m sure Marvel’s Avengers gameplay will go public before 2020.
Lastly, the forthcoming game set in Marvel’s heroic universe is developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix and is slated to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 15th, 2020.
