Streamer, content creator, and Yogscast member Matthew “Caff” Meredith has been dropped by the organization and his YouTube channel removed from the Yogscast organization, along with the Twitch channel, Caffcast, cast out of the Yogscast tribe after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced.
According to Game Revolution, “Caff” was ousted after multiple allegations were made against him for using his position as a way to date women after aggressively trying to get them hired into moderator positions for the Yogscast organization.
This all came to light via a moderator post on the Discord channel for Caffcast, his own offshoot community from the Yogscast, which was shared by Twitter user Jane.
The moderation team for a content creator just came out with pretty big news. We cared so much and worked with this person for years, even calling them a friend, it breaks my heart. If anyone needs support or has anything, we are here for you.

If you’re unable to read the message, it states…
“Recently we have been made aware of events that have taken place behind the scenes between Caff and various members of communities he is prominent in.
“Corroborated and proven evidence has come to light that shows that Caff has been abusing his position as a content creator for at least the last 3 years to pursue sexual relationships with those he has power and influence over, using his position as a point of coercion and control.
“As of the writing of this statement at least 8 separate women have come forward to share their stories in the last 3 days, including several current members of the staff.
“Caff consistently suggested we hire women to the mod team even if those women were fairly inactive community members or unsuitable to hold the position. Some of these suggestions were rejected, however it was later found that others who we accepted were predated on further by Caff. We now believe in retrospect that his reasons for suggesting these women were to gain additional access to these members in a closer environment to be able to more easily groom them for his sexual motivations.
“Alongside these incidents, Caff has been in a long term relatinship with his girlfriend for over 6 years. Only the older mods were aware of this and had been asked by Caff to keep it quiet. Looking back on this, we now believe that he wanted to keep this out of the public eye and even from newer staff members to appear single in order to groom and enter into relationships with members of the community.
“We won’t be going into detail to spare the victims of his actions public scrutiny, but suffice it to say his actions are condemned by all members of the team and we believe the abuse of his position in this way to be utterly reprehensible.
“Due to these revelations as of today the entire staff team is leaving this community as we cannot stand complicit in support of Caff.
“We would encourage those of you who see this to make others both in the community and who have once been in the community aware as we do not want him to have any more unsuspecting people to prey upon.
“We are aware there may be more victims than the 8 we have spoken to in the last 3 days and should you have any additional information or just want support for your experiences we will still be available through discord or other social media for you to talk to.”
But the decision to remove “Caff” had nothing to do with any decision made by the Discord moderators. The decision came down from up top; specifically the Yogscast CEO, Mark Turpin.
This was confirmed via a Reddit post by Turpin, going by the handle Turpster. On June 6th, 2019 Turpin wrote…
“Earlier today I was notified of serious allegations made against Caff and his conduct with particular members of his audience. As you know, the Yogscast expects the highest levels of professionalism from its talent and that it is central to the company and its ethos that our fans and community are considered first.
“Having reviewed the evidence and carefully considered this situation, we have concluded that Caff’s conduct is a material breach of our talent agreements and code of conduct that results in us terminating his relationship with the Yogscast effective immediately.
“We have removed his channels from our YouTube CMS and have requested Twitch remove his channels from association with the Yogscast. He is no longer part of the Yogscast collective.”
They didn’t just remove his channels from the YouTube and Twitch channels, the administrators who run the Yogscast Wiki also had Matthew “Caff” Meredith’s entire Wiki entry scrubbed clean.
“The Wiki Admin Team has taken action regarding Matthew Meredith. In response to the Official Yogscast statement, we have removed Matthew from our core navigation, categories and homepage. At this time, Matthew’s dedicated page is also unavailable.
“Yogscast Wiki Staff are currently reviewing the decision – we may choose to reinstate the page, with careful rewording, at a later date. As we are a Wiki that anyone can edit, a number of users have taken it upon themselves to start removing every trace of him from the site. We haven’t established a policy regarding whether this is acceptable yet but as this is a sensitive topic to many people we are allowing it to happen for now.
”Please contact a member of staff if you have any questions regarding this decision.”
We don’t actually know if any of the allegations hold any merit, or if they’re just based on hearsay. Since no evidence was posted it’s possible all of this was fake and staged to get Matthew “Caff” Meredith fired, which has been the case for some people in the past. However, “Caff” did nuke his Twitter account after the reports surfaced. If you attempt to visit his Twitter page, nothing is there.
Yogscast isn’t entirely innocent of previous scandals, though. The cast was involved in a high profile Kickstarter scandal, as recounted by Larry Bundy Jr.
Yogscast also ran afoul of TotalBiscuit for a lack of disclosures regarding endorsements and nepotism, as recounted in a thread over on the CynicalBrit.
And that’s not to mention that they consider themselves as “privileged” and adopt intersectional feminist viewpoints, as pointed out in a Tumblr blog post they made back in December 2014.
In some ways it should come as no surprise that one of their members has been ousted on the grounds of sexual misconduct, considering that nearly everyone on the SJW sexual misconduct master list either declared themselves as male feminists or were part of the Left-wing “Progressive” movement.
