YS Net Lists Different Shenmue 3 Versions Along With New Trailer

YS Net reportedly has listed Shenmue 3’s different versions on a new Kickstarter campaign update via a user’s post. However, some fans didn’t like the info and the content nestled in each edition, while others still remain excited.

The latest Shenmue 3 Kickstarter update offers new images and a PlayStation kiosk movie trailer, which you can view the latter piece of media below:

Looking deeper into the Kickstarter update, website playstationlifestyle.net posted a letter from Shenmue 3 backer Antonio Miranda. The note from Miranda offers Ys Net’s response on each version, which includes the Season Pass, Deluxe Edition, the Trial Version, Slacker Backer edition, and more:

“I just got a reply from YS Net regarding Season Pass and Trial Version: (tl:dr – backers won’t get content in pre-orders/deluxe edition, including the season pass)

To sum up the above, the Standard retail version and the Deluxe retail version are not affiliated with the crowdfunding campaign, meaning they aren’t in the backer pledges. However, they (the two retail versions) will be available separately.

This fits in line with our previous report about Shenmue 3 pre-order bonuses not being available for Kickstarter backers.

For those who are Kickstarter backers, they will receive the Kickstarter version. Slacker Backers will receive the Slacker Backer version. Additionally, the Kickstarter and Slacker Backer versions offer unique content respective to their versions — this means the two (Kickstarter, and Slacker Backers) content isn’t in the retail versions.

As for the Trial version, which is coming, its release date has yet to be confirmed and will in a later update.

Lastly, GamesIndustry.biz has reached out to Ys Net for confirmation on the above information, but the team hasn’t replied to the website.

With all of that said, Shenmue 3 has two retail versions, two backer versions, a Trial version, and it sounds like a Season Pass. Anyway, I’m sure more info on all of this will be in a future update.
