Dragon Ball FighterZ Adds Janemba DLC August 8th; Gogeta Coming Soon
Dragon Ball FighterZ Janemba

During this year’s EVO the announcements were no where near as exciting or as original as some of the big drops during the previous years, but some fighting game makers still attempted to appeal to the fighting game community with some new DLC characters and features, including Bandai revealing the ultra sexy Cassandra for Soul Calibur VI, and the company following that up with a reveal of Janemba heading to Dragon Ball FighterZ.

The trailer is only two minutes long but it gives you a good enough look at how Janemba performs and what you can expect from the new roster addition.

The dimension warping, reality-bending, tail-whipping villain seems to sync up nice with all the other freaks, monsters, aliens, and fighters on the roster.

They nearly spend a minute just going over some of the other villains within the Dragon Ball universe before getting to Janemba, but they do a poor job of explaining why he’s anymore of a threat than the others.

Even still, his ability to rotate his neutrals between punches, kicks, and tail-whips mean that he can very easily keep his foes off guard, especially when performing low attacks with the tail while standing, or performing omnidirectional attacks using the dimensional rifts.

Much like Yamazaki from the King of Fighters, Janemba also has the ability to absorb attacks and reflect projectiles back at opponents. I imagine that would be very useful when going against projectile spammers.

The second half of the trailer focuses on Gogeta [SSGSS], who is the combination of Goku and Vegeta. We see some of his attacks and special moves. However, the trailer ends before we find out when he’s launching, with a nebulous “coming soon” sticker plastered under his name. We also know that Broly is also coming soon, but he still doesn’t have a release date either.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently available right now for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
