Ghostrunner GamesCom Demo Highlights Melee, Parkour, And Cyberpunk Visuals

One More Level Studios recently announced that they were working on a first-person parkour, hack-and-slash cyberpunk game called Ghostrunner. The game is a mixture of Mirror’s Edge, Blade Runner and Sairento VR. During this year’s GamesCom event in Cologne, Germany, there was some brand new footage released of the game, allowing gamers to get a glimpse of how the movement works, what the combat is like, and how cool the cyberpunk setting is.

The seven and a half minute gameplay demo was posted up over on the Meteorite Games YouTube channel. You can check out the gameplay video for Ghostrunner below.

The video starts with the basic tutorial, teaching players how to run, parkour, and perform basic melee attacks to slice and dice enemies.

Players learn how to dodge bullets and perform counter-attacks.

The crazy part about the game is that one shot and you die, so you have to make sure you dodge the attacks, grapple, and perform the counter-attacks as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

The aesthetics for Ghostrunner are absolutely spot on. The game looks like what a true cyberpunk action title should look like.

The levels are actually less like traditional platforming stages and more like puzzles that have to be solved. You need to master your hand-eye coordination and time your attacks.

I imagine learning to get good at the game will eventually evolve into establishing a solid pace at which to play through the levels and eventually crank up the difficulty.

The more I see of Ghostrunner the more it reminds me of Magunner meets Shadow Warrior 2.

Anyway, you can look for Ghostrunner to make its way to the Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2020. The game is still currently in development, and you can wishlist the title right now by visiting the Steam store page.
