Chernobylite Enters Early Access October 16th, Will Feature 3 Areas, 4 Companions

The Farm 51 released a new trailer for Chernobylite, along with revealing the game’s Early Access release date, which is set for October 16th.

The trailer covers what you can expect from the Early Access release, which will include three explorable locations from the Chernobyl exclusion zone. The areas are sandbox in design, finely hewn and hand-crafted by the team to convey a specific kind of aesthetic and ominous feel to the nature of the environment. This means you don’t have to worry about the usually lame and attention deficient qualities of a procedurally generated environment.

You can check out the trailer below.

The Early Access will also include about eight hours worth of gamneplay and nine story missions, which is quite significant. They also promise an endless survival experience with 12 replayable quests.

There are random events that will happen, along with random NPCs to encounter. Four companion NPCs can be recruited in the Early Access version, and to help keep the replay factors intact and the gameplay experience unpredictable, the environments will also include random weather effects along with a full day and night time shift.

Much like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. you can gather materials, craft weapons, upgrade your skills, and fight monsters. Unlike S.T.A.L.K.E.R., however, you will have the option of building up your very own base and adding in materials and supplies to help you survive the horrors of Chernobyl.

Chernobylite - Base

The game offers both stealth and Rambo-style gameplay, so if you hate sneaking around all the time you can go in guns-a-blazin’ and take down anyone who steps in front of your cross-hairs.

Assuming everything goes as planned, The Farm 51 wants to implement all of the content and get the full version of the game up and out at some point during the second half of 2020.

You can check out the latest update for the game over on the Kickstarter page or wishlist the game ahead of its Early Access release by visiting the Steam store page.
