Inti Creates released a new trailer for the upcoming Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Steam and Xbox One. The game is due to release on September 26th, 2019 later this month.
The trailer covers the playable character, his special abilities, his companion, some of the enemies, as well as some of the levels that players will traverse.
Gamers take on the role of Copen and his AI partner Lola, as they battle through the city, freeing those who are being hunted down by the authoritarian regime. The gameplay is very similar to other Inti Creates side-scrollers, including allowing players to dash, wall-hop, and utilize special abilities that contain both defensive and offensive properties.
As explained in the trailer, you can dash into enemies to auto-lock onto them. This allows Copen to fire at them from anywhere on the screen.
You can also rack up enough points to upgrade Lola to unlock her humanoid idol form, where she’s dressed in the sexy armored leotard, not unlike Mercy from Overwatch.
Lola also has some special awakening abilities that she can use to help aid Copen during battle, even when he dies.
There are six main bosses in the game that players will face off against, and each of them are outlined in the trailer, along with some of the allies you’ll encounter along the way.
Inti Creates also didn’t hold back in making a lot of the female characters prime waifu bait, which is a good thing because it’s necessary to have strong sex appeal in today’s games. Too many Western titles have stripped females of their femininity and so they’re basically husky women (poorly) imitating men.
You can look for Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX to drop for home consoles and PC starting September 26th.
