Nioh 2 Open Beta Starts November 1st, Runs Through November 10th

The official PlayStation account announced that Nioh 2 will receive an open beta this fall ahead of its release in early 2020. The open beta will be available for PlayStation 4 owners looking to check out Team Ninja’s hack-and-slash, action-RPG.

The news about the beta was revealed via the PlayStation Twitter account, which announced that the open beta will be available between November 1st, 2019 and November 10th, 2019.

All you have to do is log into your PlayStation Network account, go to the PlayStation Store – either through your PS4 console or through a web browser – and add the beta to your user account once it becomes available.

According to some within the tweet chain, you will not need PlayStation Plus in order to get your hands on the beta. You will simply need a PSN account to download the beta.

Since making the announcement they didn’t provide any details on how long the beta will be or how much content players will have access to.

This isn’t the first beta for the game, though. There was a closed beta that took place back in June just ahead of E3.

It looks like Team ninja is trying to work out the kinks and get everything in place so that they have as smooth a launch as possible come 2020.

The news about the beta was also accompanied by a new Tokyo Game Show trailer, which highlighted a minute’s worth of gameplay that you can check out below.

The trailer looks really good.

We get to see things that are absent in a lot of games today, such as environmental destruction (which seems to be utilized in fewer and fewer games) as well as specialized animations for each of the bosses when they interact with the player-character. It really adds an extra layer of entertainment values to the experience when they implement those kind of special interactions.

Additionally, we see that playable female characters will be present without requiring DLC this time around.

You can look for Nioh 2 to go live in early 2020 for the PS4, or you can check out the open beta come November 1st.
