Oculus And Respawn Reveal Medal Of Honor: Above And Beyond VR, Censors Swastikas In Trailer

Respawn Entertainment and Oculus Studios are to bring Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond to the land of VR sometime in 2020. And it wouldn’t be a current year WW2 game without a strong French female resistant leader and what looks to be censored swastikas.

That’s correct, the new Medal of Honor by the ones that called Apex Legend players “complete ass-hats” and “Freeloaders” is hitting the Oculus family of devices next year.

In addition to both a full narrative campaign and multiplayer modes, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond includes a story gallery mode:

“This mode lets you sit with WWII veterans and survivors to hear their stories while witnessing first-hand the events and locations that have shaped our history.”

Furthermore, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond sees you as an Allied agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) having to infiltrate, outgun, and outsmart your counterparts.

After besting the Wehrmacht and NAZI forces, you can collaborate with the French Resistance to take up a sabotage operation that drops you behind enemy lines.

Anyway, during Medal of Honor’s 20th-anniversary celebration comes the following trailer for the 2020 FPS game:

“Coming in 2020 from Respawn Entertainment and Oculus Studios. Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond brings the historic battlefields of World War II back to the forefront for an epic AAA experience like no other. You’ll play as an Allied agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), tasked with infiltrating, outgunning, and outsmarting the Nazi war machine. As you complete your tour of duty across Europe, you’ll collaborate with the French Resistance, working to sabotage Nazi operations from behind enemy lines.”

Moreover, a certain section in the above video reveals a moment where the player throws a knife at a soldier, and we see two red flags hanging on opposite sides of each other with white circles on them. Obviously, these flags are the ones that would hold the swastika on them, but not this time, not during current year.

As mentioned above, Respawn and Oculus Studios are set to release Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond to the Oculus family of devices sometime in 2020.
