Project Haven, Turn-Based Cyberpunk RPG Features Hot Chicks And Free-Aiming
Project Haven

Portuguese outfit Foresight Games has an upcoming tactical turn-based strategy RPG called Project Haven. It looks like it could be a breath of fresh air. The game sees players taking on the role of a group of mercenaries in a seedy town called Haven City. The mercenaries are known as the Steel Dragons, and they carry out wet-work for various criminal-types.

DSO Gaming picked up the announcement for the game from a teaser trailer and collection of screenshots rolled out for the game. The screenshots depict a game with some slick visual designs, especially for the females, along with a gritty urban backdrop where all the action takes place.

An accompanying teaser trailer was released along with the announcement of the game, which you can check out below.

So there are a few things that set Project Haven apart from its nearest rivals like XCOM or Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. First up you can not only take cover but also lean around cover to pull of shots. Additionally, instead of relying on the random hit-chance roll, you can manually take control of a character during action turns and aim the reticule in order to pull off the shot, creating a sort of third-person shooter element to the design.

I also like how there’s a big focus on manipulating the environment to your advantage. You can set charges and blow out walls to knock enemies off their feet, breach doors and snipe from across the map. As you complete missions you’ll be able to upgrade your characters and outfit with better equipment, just like in other tactical turn-based titles.

What stood out to me the most was that the women actually looked like women.

Project-Haven-1

Looked at cleavage. My goodness.

That woman is spilling out of her dress like 5 ounces of tuna falling out of two tiny crackers.

Anyway, if the game keeps up the sex appeal and has a solid loop with functional mechanics, decent AI, and an engrossing mission structure, this could very easily end up being a sleeper hit when it launches on PC.

The game will also feature both online cooperative modes and a skirmish mode for those of you interested. You can keep an eye on Project Haven by visiting the Steam store page, where you can either learn more about it or wishlist it ahead of release.
