If the Doom Trilogy and all of its problems and censored content hold any indications as well as Fallout 76 and all the other blunders that Bethesda is known for, don’t hold your breath on Doom 64 being any different when it gets re-released. With that said, the first-person shooter is set to drop for PC and home consoles on March 20th, 2020.
I’m not sure how censored this game will be when it launches and if it will be like the Doom Trilogy pack, which sees the existence of the Wolfenstein SS troops replaced by zombie-men, all Nazi iconography such as Hitler portraits, swastikas, Reichsadlers, and so on removed. However, we’ll see what’s up next year.
Anyway, folks interested in seeing a glimpse of Doom 64 early and what it has to offer, the latest half a minute-long video trailer sits right here courtesy of Bethesda Softworks:
“Fight through demonic hordes, hunt down the Mother of Demons, and stop Hell’s invasion as you battle through more than 30 action-packed levels. Be on the lookout for classic weapons and secrets to help you put an end to the demonic threat.”
I’m sure keen-eyed gamers noticed green blood flowing throughout the trailer as if the slightly altered and iconic monsters took a dip in sewer water and now bleed septic juice, no? If you answered yes, then you would not be wrong since green blood is in the game.
According to the CEO of Nightdive Studios and character artist, Stephen Kick, you can toggle a switch to see red or green blood as per this conversion on Twitter:
You can change it in game 😌

Although gamers aren’t forced to see green blood everywhere and can choose what they want to see their demon counterparts bleed, it’s unclear at this point if this game will have egregious log-in DRM like the Doom Trilogy that once forced you to sign-in to a Bethesda.net account to play.
