EA Teases Steam Return After Recent Rumor

It looks like Electronic Arts or big papa EA is teasing its return to the house of Gabn soon. Rumors not too long ago surfaced that EA would do so, but it looks like the company with a series of flops on hand (sans the FIFA franchise) wants to hook back up with Steam.

Back on October 22nd, Twitter user lashman noted that Dragon Age 2 received an update to its executable that would also “launch Origin upon starting the game.”

A day later, we covered the ongoing investigation that website The Nerd Mag would help bolster by confirming the update had indeed taken place.

In addition to the above, titles such as the Saboteur (once on Steam) is said to be undergoing beta testing for a relaunch as well as Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.

Fast forward to today, and we now see EA’s official Twitter account teasing a cup of something (maybe whale tears trying to get rare FIFA drops?) steaming with the company’s logo front and center:

I’m pretty sure EA would attempt to bring EA Access to Steam, which is a subscription-based gaming service that is currently for PS4 and Xbox One, offering access to select games published by EA along with additional “incentives.”

In case you don’t know, Origin has its own subscription known as Origin Access. In other words, Steam may gain EA Access or have a new sub to entice the gullible.

Furthermore, games published by EA are currently on the storefront, but this move marks a moment where the company’s newer games or removed titles will land back on Steam.

Lastly, what do you think of all of this? Do you think EA should stay on Origin, or do you think Steam could use more EA titles moving forward?
