Gears 6 Art Direction May Draw From Handmaid’s Tale, Says Art Director

If The Coalition teaming up with Facebook for the Women In Gaming social engineering initiative wasn’t a telltale enough sign that Gears 5 was going to be catering toward feminists, perhaps the art director, Aryan Hanbeck, openly admitting that he had the art team check out Hulu’s Handmaid’s Tale for palette inspiration might finally convince some of the people who keep their head in the sand to realize that Gears of War as a franchise is lost.

The news comes courtesy of a podcast that Hanbeck participated in on October 18th, 2019 over on Wassup Conversations. His reference to Handmaid’s Tale popped up at the 27 minute mark.

IGN captured the quote from Hanbeck, who stated…

“One thing – the guys here will probably laugh if they see this – but I’ve been telling all the artists nonstop to go watch Handmaid’s Tale… The composition, the color, and just the cinematography and symbolism is just off the charts. So, I watched that and I’m like, ‘Wow we gotta find a way to get more of this stuff in Gears 6.’”

This is outrageous!

A symphony of sacrilege played at the ceremony of masculinity.

If you’re unsure or unfamiliar with The Handmaid’s Tale (and I imagine most men with nominal levels of testosterone are) there’s a trailer below to give you an idea of what Hanbeck is referencing.

Lots of menstrual references and colors relating to menstrual blood. And this is what they want for Gears 6.

All that we appreciated in Gears of War as a franchise for men is gone! Lost to the visage of political correctness and the ever-fattening glut of an overbearing totalitarian known as feminism!

This fetid collection of absurd ideas penetrating through the cavity of male-dominated spaces must come to an end if any semblance of manhood is to be retained in the entertainment space.

As it stands, Gears of War is lost.

Then again, what would one expect from someone who supports all of the typical media misinformation themed around the Liberal talking points regarding. climate change.

In any case, had Hanbeck mentioned that the color and tonal inspiration for Gears 5 and Gears 6 came from movies like Mad Max: Fury Road or Mandy or the upcoming Blood Machines, it sets a completely different perspective on our expectations for the franchise. But that isn’t the case.

Hanbeck is referencing a feminist show for a series that has taken a complete 180 in feminist direction. Those who have already sacrificed what little manliness they have left will defend Hanbeck’s decision and will continue to accommodate the whims of Soy Justice Warriors, but make no mistake that this will only further lead Gears of War down the sales gutter. Not that they could do much worse than the launch week sales of Gears 5, which moved 20 times fewer units than Gears of War 3’s during its launch week, as reported by PCGamesN.
