Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore Release Will Be Globally Shared Based On Censored Western Version

Tokyo Mirage Sessions Encore Censored

Nintendo confirmed that the Japanese version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will be the same as the censored Western version, since it will be globally shared version of the game.

Persona Central picked up the news from an update over on the official Nintendo website, where it was stated…

“This work is a worldwide shared specification that adds new elements, based on the Western version of “Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE” released on the Wii U.”

This means that the Japanese version on the Switch will be just as censored as the Western version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE on the Wii U. This means the pelvic bones have been removed, additional coverage of the decolletage has been added for certain characters, obfuscation of cleavage have been added, and various outfits and other elements are also censored.

In fact, you can find out just how censored the Western Wii U version of the game was by checking out the compilation video below from Censored Gaming.

The changes to the Western version of the game were so abysmal most people forfeited purchasing the game on the Wii U when it finally released in the West due to all the censorship. The game went on to bomb, sales wise.

As pointed out by Persona Central, with the new version of the game based on the Western release, it likely means the hot springs DLC featuring the swimsuit attire will no longer be available even in the Encore edition of the game.

Basically, if you were hoping that Nintendo was going to re-release the game with all of the cut content restored and all of the censorship removed, you hoped in vain.

This will be yet another butchered release of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, only this time the Japanese will have to suffer through the Western-style censorship as well.
