Fear The Dark Unknown, Resident Evil-Style Survival Horror Launches Nov 22nd

Dreamlight Games Studios is gearing up to release their indie survival-horror game, Fear The Dark Unknown, on November 22nd, 2019 this month. The third-person title puts players in the role of two playable characters, James and Chloe, as they attempt to unravel a mystery filled with terror, gore, violence, and plenty of mind-racing puzzles.

The game centers around the two century old Beresford mansion, viewed through the lens of two different playable protagonists, James Sullivan or his daughter Chloe. Players will have to navigate through the mansion, avoiding certain death while attempting to unearth the secrets and discover the darkness within.

You can get a glimpse of what the gameplay and story is like with the most recent trailer below.

As you can see, the game hearkens back to the old-school of survival horror titles, where you’re playing the game from a fixed camera view, just like the old Resident Evil, Alone In The Dark and Dino Crisis titles.

Players who have craved for those old tank-style controls and creepy camera angles will get to experience them once more when Fear The Dark Unknown drops on Steam. Alternatively, there’s also Song of Horror, which also features a fixed camera and creepy angles, but the difference between the two is that there is no actual combat in Song of Horror. You can take some measures to defend yourself or hide from the enemies, but you don’t gain access to weapons in Song of Horror like you do in Fear The Dark Unknown.

Players will have four different weapons to acquire, including both melee and projectile weaponry. However, ammo will be limited and resources thin, so you’ll have to budget your weapon use wisely.

Some encounters may require you to engage the enemy, while other encountrs may force you to flee. There will also be boss fights as well.

If you’re interested in Fear The Dark Unknown you can learn more abou the game or add it your wishlist by visiting the Steam store page.

As mentioned at the top of the article, the game is due for release on November 22nd on PC.
