Movie Games Lunarium’s Lust From Beyond is prepping to launch sometime “soon”, but we don’t exactly know when. However, to help sate the anticipation of starved gamers eager to penetrate their interest into the interactive entertainment experience, the developers released a free-to-play prologue that you can download right now.
You can actually download the free prologue from the Lust From Beyond: Prologue page on Steam.
The prologue sets up the game’s main premise by putting players in the role of Christopher, a man tormented by visions of a land beyond his own.
Christopher is eventually led to a cult who has an obsession with Lusst’ghaa, a land of ecstasy beyond our reality controlled by an entity that feeds on sexual torment.
The game combines a lot of elements of BDSM and Lovecraftian themes based on the sexual side of cosmic horror.
As a prequel to Lust For Darkness, gamers will gain more insight into the cult that carried out the events that transpired in the original game.
The prologue introduces players to some of the interactive environmental elements, some of the puzzles, and some of the combat.
I’m not sure what the combat system is like given that in the original game there was no way to fight back against the monsters, you just had to run and hide and wait for them to stop chasing you before you could proceed. So it’s nice to see that there’s some evolution being added to the overall concept of the game beyond just sightseeing and puzzle solving.
You can grab the prologue right now and look for the full game to arrive “soon”.
