Open Discussion: November 3rd, 2019

The latest Open Discussion has arrived as of November 3rd, 2019. This series on OAG lets anyone write up anything that comes to mind in the comment section where you can talk about video games, movies, events, or anything without facing censorship.

Anyone looking for a place to share something that may be of interest will find that this board, which appears every week on OAG, allows for all types of discussions. The Open Discussion series enables readers to participate and engage in a variety of topics without any restrictions.

Moreover, the Open Discussion series also features specific topics to partake in if you can’t think of anything to jot down. If you do not want to partake in the Open Discussion and wish to change the subject to something that you feel is more interesting/pressing, feel free to do so.

As for this week’s Open Discussion, it is about inflation.

In addition to the above, back in 2017 and 2018, a bunch of articles saying, “Video games should boast higher prices” kept popping up. Recently, I’ve been seeing people talking on different forums suggest that instead of microtransactions being in games, publishers and devs should increase the base price of video games like on this r/Games thread.

With that said, do you believe moving into the next-gen console phase we’ll see games cost more, or will we see more heavy handed-live service mechanics?

In other words, what’re your thoughts on devs moving away from live-service mechanics and boosting prices from standard numbers (say like $59.99) to something like $89.99 on up? Do you think this will happen moving forward or is this something not likely to happen?

Like any other Open Discussion, if you have something else on your mind and wish to share it, you are free to post it up right here. This means that content unrelated to this very topic can be shared without being moved to another section.

This week’s music is the 1994 Killer Instinct theme:
