Not too long ago, Half-Life: Alyx was rumored to be in the works, and later, Valve announced the VR game is to appear at this year’s Game Awards. While that event is a few weeks away, Valve took up the initiative to reveal the minimum PC specs for the VR 2020 title.
Yes, the VR game is due out next year during March, but there’s no specific launch day as of this writing. Like clockwork, the revelation of Half-Life: Alyx created the usual crowd of three: those that love it, those that hate it, and the indifferent.
No matter the camp you may fit in, there’s no denying that Valve has seeded out the minimum PC specs for Half-Life: Alyx over on its storefront.
The game calls for folks to possess a PC that has Windows 10 as an operating system, a processor that is either a Core i5-7500 or a Ryzen 5 1600, a GPU that is either the GTX 1060 or RX 580 – 6GB VRAM, and 12 GB of RAM.
If you want a better or more streamlined look at Half-Life: Alyx’s PC specs, you can check them out below:
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: GTX 1060 / RX 580 – 6GB VRAM
I should note that these specs might change moving forward when the game is nearing world consumption. Some games go through a list of changes before launch to reflect overall alterations, which this move is often called going “gold” or in simple terms “optimization.”
I do wonder what the recommended specs will look like because, for those to be minimum requirements to run the game, I can already tell you that the average normie will not be able to get this thing going.
Anyway, the Game Awards is set to kick-off on December 12th, 2019, where more Half-Life: Alyx info will surface.
