Red Dead Redemption 2 Sells 408,000 Copies On Epic Games Store

While on the Epic Games Store, we learn that Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 didn’t even pass the 1 million mark in its first month. SuperData has found that the so-called behemoth that is the sequel to the 2010 cowboy shooter has only 408,000 digital units under its belt during its one month run.

Website gamesindustry.biz picked up on SuperData‘s research and found that the big triple-A game while on the Epic Games Store for the month-long exclusivity didn’t even make it passed the 1 million mark let alone the 500K line.

The website notes that Red Dead Redemption 2 came nowhere near the top ten games on PC for November in digital sales, which is not only sad on 2K and Rockstar’s end, but it goes to show the interest people have in Red Dead Redemption 2 a year out from launch — contrary to the infamous GTA V.

Earlier this month, we reported on gamingbolt.com crunching Red Dead Redemption 2‘s Steam numbers, and they, too, weren’t anything to write home about.

According to Steam’s stat list, Red Dead Redemption 2 hasn’t even made the top ten list at launch and as of this writing. As a matter of fact, the game isn’t even in the top 20 list.

Back on December 6th, 2019, Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam’s digital chart showcased that it had a current player count of 14,182. Fast-forward by a couple of weeks, and the game has a current player count of 18,672.

It’ll be interesting to see how timed exclusives perform on the Epic Games Store moving forward? If Red Dead Redemption 2 is any indication, it looks like the 150GB game with more bugs than a rotten house isn’t a good sign so far.

Anyway, Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now across PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version landed on the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher since November 5th and later through Steam on December 5th, 2019.
