British actor Jason Isaacs came out against Star Trek fans, calling them “racist” for being against the propaganda being peddled in the CBS streaming show, Star Trek: Discovery. The veteran thespian laid out the salaciously undue criticism against fans during a recent podcast interview.
Gizmodo picked up the news from an interview Isaacs had with Radio Times that was published on December 13th, 2019.
In the interview, Isaacs stated…
“Initially when we launched Star Trek there were a bunch of voices pretending to be Star Trek fans online, complaining that we were social justice warriors, and that it was all too right-on, the MeToo generation, that we had a young black woman lead. And they were exposed very quickly as a bunch of non-Star Trek fans, racist right-wing lunatics – because the real fans took to them as soon as the show started running.
“That’s not what Star Trek fans think. It was people who were jumping on the bandwagon to espouse these disgusting views thinking that they had a platform for it.
“And very quickly they were drowned out by people telling them… if they thought the makers of Star Trek were social justice warriors, they were absolutely right! Because that’s what it’s all about. They had a Russian on deck right at the heart of the Cold War. And they had the first interracial kiss!”
Essentially, Isaacs is saying that anyone who didn’t jump on board with CBS’ and the showrunners’ agenda for Star Trek: Discovery weren’t real Star Trek fans.
It’s a disgusting way to reinvent gate-keeping for the Liberal Progressive crowd.
Basically he’s saying that anyone who doesn’t agree with the sociopolitical tenets of the show isn’t a “real” fan, as if somehow the people who infiltrated the brand and ratcheted up the levels of “Progressiveness” to absurd degrees are now the “true” fans, despite the retcons and redos that the writers committed in trying to push their agenda onto the audience, as recounted by YouTuber Nerdrotic.
But true fans be damned.
Isaacs and co-star Sonequa Martin-Green believe that the people who gulped down the show’s messaging without question, smearing the feces of narrative ineptitude over their mind like Jesse James smeared the Dirty Sanchez across Sandra Bullock’s upper lip, are the true fans of the franchise.
Martin-Green told Radio Times…
“I think that the idea of justice and diversity and indivisibility, these truths are at the heart of the Star Trek franchise in general and these truths that the show was built upon in the very beginning, in the 60s,”
“It was a big part of the conversation in the beginning because this was a reintroduction of this franchise and it was the attempt to bring these truths to today and to bring Star Trek to this new generation, continue its legacy.”
There are people who will argue that Star Trek was always “woke”, but what they fail to note is that the writing used to be thought-provoking, and it used to focus on characters you liked and stories that challenged the moral standards.
However, Star Trek: Discovery is yet another poorly written, soapbox preaching affair looking to indoctrinate instead of to entertain. Right now it’s existence is being propped up by the CBS All Access streaming service, but once they stop subsidizing the show it’ll have a long, well deserved placement on the Get Woke, Go Broke Master List.
