It’s not often that gaming consoles being able to go online can turn out to be a good thing, but in this case Nintendo should be quite proud given that a stolen Nintendo Switch being played by the alleged perpetrator of a burglary and murder allowed police to track down and arrest the culprits.

Sankaku Complex picked up the news from Fox 10, who did a short segment on the incident back on December 16th, 2019.

Professor Matthew Wiser from the University of South Alabama was murdered in his own home by Derric Scott on November 20th, 2019. Scott broke into Wiser’s home, killed the professor and stole some of his possessions, including a Nintendo Switch.

In the YouTube description of the Fox 10 video, it notes that assistant District Attorney Keith Blackwood revealed to Fox 10 that when the Nintendo Switch was used online the police were able to track its location, and arrest the getaway driver, Tiquez Timmons, and later Derric Scott.

While online functionality has always been a hotly contested feature for home consoles, in this very, very rare case it was actually the saving grace for investigators to track down and apprehend the suspects after Matthew Wiser was killed in cold blood.

It’s a chief indicator that a lot of stereotypes that the Left try to downplay turn out to be wholly true. It also makes the general public more and more distrusting of Lefties as evidence tends to reveal that lying and covering up crimes committed by certain demographics will only make the general public more angry and more resentful towards minorities in America.

And yes, while the all digital future is certainly a terrible thing, it did allow police to apprehend the suspected perpetrators, who otherwise would have managed to escape justice for killing a man in cold blood.
