The all-ages Steam release of VenusBlood Frontier has been indefinitely delayed, and there’s no ETA on when we’ll see that bad boy arrive on Valve’s digital storefront, but we know for a fact that you can pick up a digital copy of Ninetail’s international English release of the popular Japanese erotic strategy game.
The R18+ version of VenusBlood Frontier is available on the Jast USA storefront for $39.99. During the first week of release you can get the game for 10% off the normal purchasing price for only $34.99.
The story centers around demons attempting to invade the floating continent of Yggdrasil, guarded by five beautiful goddesses. The Dark Lord Surt tasks his underlings – of ill-repute and dastard intentions – to use whatever machinations they see fit to invade and take over Yggdrasil by bringing him its heart.
Players assume the role of Loki, who has an opportunity to take control of Yggdrasil for himself. Players can either work with the goddesses or attempt to corrupt them along the way.
The actual gameplay is like a tactical RPG, where you’ll need to recruit an army from more than 100 different units, and you can collect items, accessories, armor and weapons as you progress through the game to upgrade your most valuable units before sending them into battle.
Much like other tactical strategy games, you’ll be able to conquer territory, reinforce your army, and establish new strategies to thwart the enemy by securing key locations across the world map.
I’m not entirely sure what part of the game triggered the “taste police” at Valve, but it was enough to force the game into an indefinite delay. Ninetail, however, is still determine to get the all-ages version of the game up and out on Steam, but apparently some heavy edits are going to be required.
On the upside, if you don’t want to wait for the Steam release (and since it’s supposed to be the all-ages version anyway, I don’t see why you would) you can get your hands on the uncensored version of the game over on the Jast USA store, right now.
