Apex Legends Season 4 Trailer Showcases Security Almost as Stupid as the Game’s Monetization Schemes

Evil has reached an extremely sad state of affairs. We have these rank amateurs coming in thinking they can do Umbrella, OmniCorp, slash good old fashion black budget project with ease. Then everyone surprise Pikachus when these tossers get murdered like they’re the 30th pistachio in a binge.

As you can see above Marcos Andrade owned a company that took a person’s soul and consciousness and trapped it into a robot body or made the robot believe it was human, the details are kind of sketchy, but definitely solidly unethical albeit slightly played out. With a massive 10 million bounty on his head, his under-equipped security opts to run at a death bot without any weapons drawn whereupon they are promptly murdered.

Look if you’re going to be doing some evil corporate stuff invest in three things: competent security, firepower, and solid escape plans. Yes, plural, never have just one it’s a great way to not see the sequel. Rather than running for his life with his family, the family man villain decides to stand around looking stupid until eventually everyone is murdered in an amount of time that would have more than allowed for a lot of them to escape.

Then we find out the robot thinks it’s human or was human — again the details are not clear in the description. The trailer ends with the daughter brooding over her moron of a father’s death setting her up for her revenge arc against a machine her father created. Yet we’re expected to have sympathy for this fool? If I didn’t cry at Spencer’s funeral I sure as hell am not shedding a tear over this idiot.

Revenant used to be human. He was the greatest hitman the Mercenary Syndicate ever had. But when his programming eventually failed, he saw what Hammond Robotics had turned him into: a walking nightmare of steel and vestigial flesh. The return of Hammond Robotics to the Outlands has renewed his thirst for vengeance, and he won’t stop until they’re all dead. Of course, he doesn’t mind eviscerating a few Legends along the way.

As fun as it is to rip on the trailer, there really aren’t many details about what is coming in Season 4 other than Revenant. It’s frankly amazing the game has continued despite its declining player base, viewership, and developers who call those not stupid enough to drop $20 on skins freeloaders. Yet here we go into season 4, but at least the new robot looks cool.
