Oh boy, Netflix really has a hard-on for pissing off religious fanatics. After airing the gay parody of The First Temptation of Christ, which resulted in angry Brazilians fire-bombing the studio responsible for the movie, as reported by Fox News, Netflix has now riled up Muslims once again with their new series called Messiah, causing them to go on a comment Jihad.
The first season trailer depicts the story of a man who claims to be the son of God, and he constantly finds himself amidst turmoil, destruction, miracles, and mysterious circumstances, leading federal investigators to dive into whether he’s part of an elaborate con attached to a global conspiracy, or something else.
You can view the trailer below.
From a technical standpoint, the series looks competently made.
However, from an ideological standpoint, Netflix really stepped in poo from the loo this time around, and the downvotes on the trailer speak volumes.
The real entertainment takes place in the comment section, though, where thousands of angry Muslims are there giving Netflix a good textual lashing for what they believe is a blasphemous portrayal of Jesus Christ.
The top-rated comment on the thread has more than 12,000 upvotes, and it’s a comment related to how Islam depicts Jesus’ return, as well as the false prophet Daijal, and the works that true believers must be wary of.
Those who have already seen the show, which is currently airing on Netflix, have stated that it’s not all that it appears to be in the trailer.
However, most of the religious zealots angered by the depiction of Jesus in Messiah have never seen the show, and are going solely by what’s present in the trailer.
One would think that Christian Justice Warriors (or CJWs) would be incensed, indignant, and enraged at the depiction on Netflix, but they were scarcely present in the comments, and the few who did post seemed more interested than angered, but some did recoil at Netflix’s series.
It was mostly the Muslims that rallied the forces against Netflix’s show.
Over time there were some who questioned why Netflix would start off the new year with a show designed to polarize and stir up controversy.
There’s entire sect within the comment section simply trying to call for cooler heads.
But the train was already rolling out of the station, and the goat was firmly yanked out of the sack.
Not only did the official trailer for Messiah get comment-bombed, but the behind-the-scenes featurette that Netflix posted up weeks later also got hit hard, too.
The hilariousness of it all is that the self-proclaimed Progressive Liberals are constantly going on and on about how great Islam is and how great Muslims are, and how there needs to be condemnation of “Islamaphobia”, yet in the exact same instance we also see the Muslims rallying up against the so-called Progressives and their degenerate agitprop.
This is basically the meme fulfilling itself: the Left eating the Left.
The monster they wanted to foster and feed is hungry, and it’s coming for the same people that helped shelter it and give it a home.
