Pokémon: Home Will Have A Free Plan And Paid Subscription At Launch

According to the Pokémon Company, the upcoming “service” known as Pokémon: Home will arrive with two plans known as the “free plan” and the “premium plan.” The premium plan will run folks $2.99, $4.99, and $15.99 for a 30-day, 90-day, or one-year-long subscription. Pokémon Home will go live sometime this February for Switch and mobile devices.

Without wasting any time, nintendolife.com has a chart up that the Pokémon Company released showing off how this “cloud-based service” will operate at launch. You can check out the difference between the basic and premium package that Pokémon: Home will bring come February 2020:

However, there’s more. The website notes that the Switch version of Pokémon: Home can connect with Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!.

But, support for Pokémon GO will arrive at a later date.

If all of that sounds confusing, the website has an image up showing how the whole connectivity and trading works when using the “cloud-based service” with other Pokémon titles:

Furthermore, it is said that this service will use your Nintendo Account (including the Nintendo Switch or mobile profile) to access the same Pokémon Boxes on both versions of the app.

As for the mobile version of Pokémon: Home, it has the “Wonder Box,” which lets you trade with others around the world. There’s also the “GTS” feature that allows you to specify which Pokémon you want to trade/receive. “Room Trade” spawns a room so that you can trade Pokémon with people that join said room. And then there’s “Friend Trade,” which lets you trade with friends that happen to own the app.

Last but not least, Pokémon will be registered in your National Pokédex when you deposit them in Pokémon: Home. This also applies to Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax forms as per the report.

Pokémon: Home will release sometime in February 2020 for Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
