Fallout 76: Wastelanders Update And Steam Version Releases April 7th, 2020

Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks are still updating the controversial game known as Fallout 76. This means the game known for raising eyebrows will be on both the Bethesda.net launcher and Steam when the Wastelander update drops on April 7th, 2020.

In general, Bethesda has messed up a whole lot with Fallout 76. From the devs doxing their players to banning people trying to help prevent widespread hacks, the company has tarnished its already troubled name.

With that said, Bethesda aims to “redeem” things by adding dialog options and NPCs through the forthcoming April due the Wastelanders update that will launch across PC via Bethesda’s launcher and Gaben’s Steam, along with PS4 and Xbox One.

Joining NPCs comes new weapons, gear, and a new questline. However, don’t forget that Bethesda will sneak in bugs that will likely cause major problems. Anyway, bethesda.net has a description up on what you can expect from the Wastelanders update:

“Wastelanders will be available to anyone who purchases the standard or deluxe editions of the game. In addition to introducing fully voiced NPCs to the world of Fallout 76, Wastelanders brings a brand-new main questline, new locations, new enemies, new weapons, a new reputation system and much more. Get ready for Wastelanders with a new trailer and learn more about how you’ll be able to play it on April 7.”

I should note that current or existing Fallout 76 owners shouldn’t have to purchase any additional content to play the Wastelanders update when it launches. This expansion is said to be free for all Fallout 76 owners.

In addition to the above, if you already have Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net, you will not be able to transfer your Atoms or Fallout 1st membership between Bethesda’s client and Steam.

The same concept applies to Atoms you earn, which means they are specific to one or the other platform. However, Atomic Shop items that you may have purchased will be shared across both Bethesda.net and Steam.

In the meantime, if you want to play the glitchy and anti-consumer game that is Fallout 76, it’s out now across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
