Half-Life: Alyx To Release For PC Via Steam On March 23rd, 2020

Half-Life: Alyx isn’t Half-Life 3, because that would mean Valve and Gaben would have to count past the number two, and we all know that won’t ever happen. So instead, folks will see the former title launch on PC via Steam on March 23rd, 2020.

Folks that want to experience Valve’s upcoming 2020 game can look to dish out $59.99. The game that will run on Valve’s VR headset, as well as the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Oculus Quest, will hit PC via Steam late next month.

If you don’t know by now, you’ll assume the role of Alyx trying to fend off the Combine during the time Gordon Freeman is gone. In other words, the forthcoming VR title takes place between Half-Life and Half-Life 2:

“Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival. The Combine’s control of the planet since the Black Mesa incident has only strengthened as they corral the remaining population in cities. Among them are some of Earth’s greatest scientists: you and your father, Dr. Eli Vance.”

If that sounds like fun to you, Valve has released the following tweet which reveals the game’s official due date:

Tagging along comes new screenshots showing off Half-Life: Alyx, consisting of one in-game segment and two stills of the world in said game. You can check out the trio of screens below

Valve claims that Half-Life: Alyx will explore how the fledgling resistance came to be followed by other events not present in the sequel. Also, new gameplay elements will be present through critical research to build up invaluable tools for the few rebels “brave enough to defy the Combine.”

Although I don’t really care about this game, if Half-Life: Alyx has piqued your interest, March 23rd is the day to remember.
