Real Game Machine announced that they have a new stealth-oriented, survival-horror game in the works set to release on Steam before the second quarter of 2020 gets underway. The name of the game is Follia: Dear Father, and it’s not another one of those survival-horror experiences where you run and hide the entire time. You do get to fight back here.
The game doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but they did release an announcement trailer featuring some of the creepy locations and enemies that you’ll encounter in the game.
You can check out the trailer below.
The 45 second trailer starts off slow, but quickly ramps up as we see that as you explore the environment and make your way through the levels, you have to either avoid or fight some monsters.
You take on the role of Marcus Pitt, a young man in search of his missing parents. He heads back to his old campus only to find that it’s been completely transformed.
Trapped inside the campus while the halls are filled with horrors come to life.
You’ll have to find out how the university became a Silent Hill playground of violence and death.
Unlike games like Amnesia or Remothered, you won’t be a simpering wimp hiding and running away all the time. Yes, you can run and hide, but you also have the option of grabbing items such as crowbars that allow you to not only attack enemies but also defend against their attacks.
The game reminds me a lot of Condemned: Criminal Origins, combining elements of first-person melee combat with survival horror elements.
They also plan on releasing a VR DLC patch for the HTC Vive and Index. I don’t know how well a VR component would work with a game like this, but if you want to wishlist Follia: Dear Father, you can do so by visiting the Steam store page.
