XSeed Games announced that Granblue Fantasy: Versus has officially launched on Steam for PC at the $59.99 price point. You all know what this means, right? Nude mods galore.
The game originally released back in early 2020 in Japan for the PS4, and then later in the West on Sony’s censored station in early March, but now the game is currently available on Steam for PC. You can pick up a copy from the Steam store with a whole bunch of DLC.
Cygames also appear to have taken cues from Capcom and Koei Tecmo with the pricing and content offerings, having gamers pay $2.99 for the first color variant pack. Yes, they actually have you paying money for 44 color variants for all the characters on the roster.
The second and third color variant packs carry a $6.99 price tag, bringing the total color count to 55.
Worse yet is that the color variant packs only apply to the base roster, not the characters available as part of the season pass pack.
There’s a total of six different color pack sets. I’m sure the fanboys will hop into comment threads defending why paying for color variations is necessary, much like some of them ran to the defense of Koei Tecmo for charging $1 to change the hair colors for characters in Dead or Alive 6.
Anyway, the base game features 11 fighters to choose from, an RPG mode, an online versus mode, and an offline versus mode.
There’s also the season pass, which contains five characters and three color sets for $29.99. You gain access to Beelzebub, Narmaya, Soriz, Djeeta, and Zooey.
The game looks like a money pit for as far as I’m concerned.
On the better side of things at least modders will be able to get work on stripping down all the waifu material to give gamers what they really want: nude mods.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus is still running on the Unreal Engine 4 like many of Arc System Works’ other recent games, so the process will likely be the same as modding Guilty Gear Xrd. So definitely keep an eye out on the usual places for updates regarding the first mods dropping for the new fighting game.
