Summer Games Done Quick Postponed Due To Coronavirus

The Games Done Quick organizers have announced that the annual Summer Games Done Quick event, has been postponed due to the coronavirus. A special charity event will be held in April to compensate for the postponement, but there’s no telling when the actual event will take place again.

Polygon is reporting that the event will take place between April 17th and April 19th. It’s being called the Corona Relief Done Quick.

It will be a supplemental event in place of the original SGDQ that was originally scheduled to take place during June in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The actual Summer Games Done Quick will now take place in August, between the 16th and the 23rd.

This means submissions and registration has been altered, too. Submissions will now take place between April 29th and May 9th, and the game list will be rolled out on June 6th, with an official itinerary set to go live on June 15th. You’ll also now have to register between June 7th and June 20th to be eligible for the event.

But don’t take it that the re-scheduling means that this is a honorable event.

The Games Done Quick event is converged.

They introduced a mascot last year in June, and the mascot has pronouns.

Also, a sizable number of entrants happen to be trans, despite the fact that they barely make up a percentage of the demographic. Even Redditors took notice, and Reddit is pozzed.

So there’s really nothing lost with Games Done Quick being delayed, postponed, or ultimately cancelled.

Corona-chan has been running through all sorts of events and gatherings, so seeing SGDQ bite the dust should have been expected at this point.

Besides, the only thing anyone loses out on is witnessing all sorts of elevated autism manifested into cringe-incarnate during the Twitch streams. You can achieve the same level of entertainment by reading tweets about murderous furries on social media.
