Trails From Zero English Translation Fan-Patch Available March 14th

The fan group who have been diligently working on the English translation for the PC port of The Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero, which originally launched back in 2011 for the PSP, have finally finished their project. The English translation is now complete and it’s expected to be made available for the PC version of the game starting March 14th, 2020.

The fan group at The Geofront announced on March 9th, 2020 that the translation would be complete and that gamers would be able to download the fan-patch for the Japanese version of Trails From Zero, also known as Zero no Kiseki.

You can see the work that they put into the game and what the translation looks like with the preview trailer below.

As explained on the site, this is only for the PC version of the game and not the PSP version of the game…

“This patch is for the existing PC version of the game, improving performance, fixing numerous bugs, and adding new features such as turbo mode, a message log, and autosaving. That being said, we have no plans to release a PSP patch at this time. If it does happen, it would be Ribose working a miracle with the less-than-ideal tools that we have to work with. Instead, we strongly encourage you to purchase a Japanese PC version of Zero no Kiseki to support Falcom, and to get the best experience possible.”

The game takes a lot of the classical elements of traditional JRPGs such as the chibi designs and turn-based combat, but with the added appeal of 3D environments, crafting, fishing, and all the other side-quests you can shake a stick at to flesh out the playtime.

You can look for the fan-translated English patch to go live over on the Geofront website.

You will need a Japanese copy of the game, which you can purchase from DLSite, Amazon.co.jp, or the Nihon Falcom shop.
