Dead Age 2, Turn-Based Strategy Zombie Survival Game Enters Early Access June 3rd

Headup Games and Silent Dreams announced that Dead Age 2, the turn-based zombie survival game, will enter into Early Access on Steam for PC starting June 3rd, 2020. The game was announced on April 3rd over on the Steam News Hub, where the developers rolled out the announcement trailer for the game and the release date.

The trailer rolls out some of the gameplay features of Dead Age 2, including the return of the turn-based combat, the ability to make or break relationships with various factions scattered throughout the post-apocalyptic game world, and new and returning skills to help aid you during battle. All of this set to a brand new score from musician Sven Gerlach.

You can check out the announcement trailer below.

I have to say, Gerlach’s new score sounds legitimately good.

He did the score to the original Dead Age, so it would make sense that he returned for the sequel.

You can check out some of his tunes over on his official YouTube channel.

As for Dead Age 2, if you enjoyed the first game then the sequel will feature more of the same, just bigger and with more features, and hopefully nothing removed or truncated.

Sequels for some reason have a tendency of removing content and then overhauling other beloved mechanics just to piss people off.

According to the Early Access FAQ, they’re planning on keeping the game in Early Access for just five months, so a little under half a year.

The plan is also to expand the game with additional areas, enemies, quests, story routes, and free content. In total, they’re looking at 12 additional hours for the full game compared to the Early Access version, which sounds rather significant.

You can learn more about Dead Age 2 by visiting the Steam store page or wait for the game’s Early Access to go live on June 3rd.
