The Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition Announced, Will Kick-Off This Summer

It looks like the people at Valve and Geoff Keighley are teaming up to give gamers an event to interact with come this June. Dubbed as the “Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition,” the event in question will run from June 9th to June 14th, 2020.

I’m sure you’ve read that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has canceled this year’s E3? Well, if you haven’t, the annual games event will no longer run. This means no physical or digital E3 2020 as per techradar.com.

However, in the place of this year’s E3 comes a special IGN “Summer of Gaming” event and now this new “festival” from Valve and Keighley.

Furthermore, Keighley expresses how he was thinking about digital ways people could “celebrate games,” and it looks like he has found a way with the help of Valve to make a games event happen this summer:

During this event, folks can play demos of upcoming games “from developers around the world,” while doing so for free from home:

Valve also stepped in to explain via steampowered.com that gamers around the world can try new games with “time-limited demos” or “short playable experiences” by connecting with developers behind the games that will appear at Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition:

“The Steam Game Festival is an event that shines a spotlight on games set to be released within the next year. From June 9th – 14th, check out upcoming releases, try them out with time-limited demos or short playable experiences, connect with the developers behind the games, and add games to your wishlist for a reminder when they release!”

As mentioned above, the digital games event will go live on June 9th, 2020, where more information can be found on steampowered.com.
