Antigraviator, Futuristic Racing Game Launches For Xbox One

Cybernetic Walrus and Iceberg Interactive’s Unity-powered racing game, Antigraviator, has officially launched for the Xbox One. The game is currently available as a digital download from over on the Microsoft Store for $19.99.

The game is a fast-paced futuristic racer, not unlike Extreme-G or Redout. Antigraviator originally made its debut on Steam two years ago back during the spring.

Originally the game was scheduled to release on the PS4 and Xbox One later into 2018 but for whatever reason it was delayed until 2020.

Now it’s available for the Xbox One and brings with it all of the features that were present for the PC release.

Unlike Wipeout or Pacer, there are no weapons in Antigraviator, but you do get to activate power-ups and track hazards that can waylay or disrupt your opponents, such as track-side missile launchers, avalanches, or lava.

Majority of the game, however, focuses on skill-based racing across visually mesmerizing tracks set across the plains of exotic worlds. There are no frameworks for stochastic track designs here. Every turn, every loop, every straightaway and every jump is meticulously crafted to push your skills and enjoyment to the next level.

Antigraviator includes both split-screen (for up to four-players) and online multiplayer, along with ship customization.

Some of the reviews are mixed due to the grindy nature of unlocking new options in the game, and some people complained that uneven track surfaces can count as a crash, along with walls that they say act like “magnets”. A few also noted that while the game offers 15 tracks to race across, some of them are just mirrored/reverse versions of existing tracks, which is kind of a bummer.

However, others thoroughly enjoy Antigraviator, so you’ll have to wade through the criticisms to find out what the pros and cons are that best suit your expectations from a futuristic racing game.

You can purchase the game right now for PS4, PC, and now for the Xbox One.
