Guilty Gear Strive Gets Delayed To 2021 Due To Coronavirus Measures

Arc System Works was planning on releasing Guilty Gear Strive for PC and home consoles sometime late this year. However, those plans have changed due to the current and ongoing pandemic, forcing the team to delay the upcoming fighting game.

Whether you are a fan of Guilty Gear or not, know that the upcoming installment in the long-running series will not release this year and will instead come out sometime in 2021.

Although some fans stressed how they would love to see the game make its debut late this year, others point to the beta and claim that Guilty Gear Strive needs more time.

With all of that said, it looks like the fighting game will have more time to bake in the oven given the following tweet that Arc System Works published for gamers and fans alike to read:

If you can’t read the tweet in question, here’s a written version that sits below:

“Thank you for your interest in Guilty Gear -Strive-. This is Takeshi Yamanaka, producer of Guilty Gear -Strive-. We have previously announced the release of Guilty Gear -Strive- for late 2020, however we have decided to change the release schedule to early 2021.

While our company’s staff and our business partners are putting in a sincere effort in dealing with the changes due to the spread of COVID-19, every aspect of our development schedule has faced delays. In addition, we have decided to set up a schedule to further improve the quality of the game responding to everyone’s help and feedback from the recent closed beta test.

We apologize sincerely to everyone who has been anticipating the release with keen excitement. Ourselves, we are dedicated to bringing you a new Guilty Gear game that will satisfy all of our fans. Please be assured that we will make good use of that extra time to do this.

Thank you for your understanding.

In other words, the team will use this time to bringing gamers a better Guilty Gear game that will “satisfy fans.” This means the extra time will be put to “good use” moving forward.

Lastly, Guilty Gear Strive’s current roster includes Axl Low, Chipp Zanuff, Faust, Ky Kiske, May, Millia Rage, Potemkin, Sol Badguy, Zato-1, and a new unnamed character.

Folks can expect Guilty Gear Strive to release sometime in 2021 for PC and home consoles.
