RIDE 4 Release Date Set For October 8th On PS4, Xbox One, Steam

Italian developer Milestone announced that RIDE 4 is coming out this year, as they confirmed back in December of 2019. The latest news reveals that the release date is set for October 8th, 2020 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on Steam for PC.

They announced that the fourth game in the venerable series will include an all new overhauled Career Mode, along with a brand new Endurance Mode, improved dynamic lighting and weather, new pit stops for tire and fuel management, as well as bike models remodeled from the ground up based on the original CAD engineering specs and 3D laser scans of the real life models.

Much like RIDE 3, they will also include a line-up of rare or uniquely made bikes that you may not have seen on the production line or on the race course.

You can catch a glimpse of some in-engine footage with the debut in-engine trailer below.

A large portion of the press release talks about how the renewed Career Mode is designed around forging your own path through a litany of choices that you can make to structure your road to greatness, your way.

Your career will start with local events and you’ll have to work your way up to international leagues, and eventually world championships.

Bike customization is also returning to the fold, allowing gamers to create original liveries, or modify the bike designs to suit their specific style of riding.

They also overhauled the multiplayer setup to allow for dedicated servers, giving gamers more control over how they play and engage with others in the online modes.

Now, I absolutely adored RIDE 3…. on PC.

The 60fps and higher end visual effects made a world of difference playing on a high-end rig compared to the 30fps caps for the home consoles. You’re dealing with a completely different set of challenges once you uncap the frame-rates and have more precision control over the bike without any input latency whatsoever.

I honestly can’t recommend the game enough given that it’s basically the motorcycle version of Gran Turismo. I just hope that this time around Milestone has a more robust soundtrack and the option for in-game music. For more information feel free to check out the official Milestone website.
