Umihara Kawase BaZooKa! Multiplayer Party Game Heads To PS4, Switch In July

ININ Games, Success Corporation and Studio Saizensen announced that a new multiplayer party game set within the Umihara Kawase universe called BaZooKa! will be released in July throughout America, Europe, Asia, and Australia for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

The companies released a new gameplay trailer featuring just under a minute’s worth of gameplay for the 3D side-scrolling brawler that combines some of the over-the-top melee action from Super Smash Bros. with the classic platforming from the Umihara Kawase series.

You can check out the debut gameplay trailer below.

The game allows you to choose from 22 different characters from the Umihara Kawase franchise, as well as Cotton Shoot ‘Em Up and Doki Doki Poyacchio, each with their own movesets and abilities.

The game sports a Challenge Mode where you have to complete 40 different stages and clear them, supporting up to four players. There’s also a co-op and competitive mode for up to four-players, multiplayer versus battles for anywhere between two and four players, as well as a Battle Royale Mode, and support for both local four-player and online four-player options.

I can’t see this game selling well on the PS4 given that Sony has scared away all of the weebs, the otaku, and the family gamers. The only thing they have left are the diehards who hate fun, the people who prefer ma’ams over men, and those who like butch golfers instead of feminine waifu. It’s basically a system that caters to a crowd that’s the complete opposite of what ININ and Saizensen are trying to sell.

The physical version will be available for both the Switch and the PS4 starting in July, while you’ll also be able to pick up a digital version of the game from the Nintendo eShop or the PlayStation Store.

If you need more info on the game feel free to visit the official ININ website.
