Tales Of Arise Delayed To Further Work On Gameplay And Graphics

Sadly, Tales of Arise has faced a delay. Before the newly announced setback, the JRPG had a release window of “2020.” This information comes from Yusuke Tomizawa — Tales of Arise’s producer — via a new blog post detailing why the forthcoming game for PC, PS4, and Xbox One has been delayed.

The announcement trailer for Tales of arise popped up during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, where they showcased some gameplay footage as well as gave gamers a brief overview of the story.

Nevertheless, the latest title in the “Tales of” series will not release anytime soon due to multiple things going on. Additionally, on bandainamcoent.eu Tomizawa explains to fans why Tales of Arise won’t release as soon as some would like:

“As you may have already seen in media stories and on our social media channels, we have made the decision to delay the launch timing of “Tales of Arise”, the latest title in the “Tales of” series.

The goal for Tales of Arise is to provide a familiar but innovative gameplay experience to fans of the series, while pushing the technical envelope to deliver a high level of graphical quality to impress both long-time players and those who have never played a Tales Of game. Development on the title has moved steadily forward in 2020 as we overcame challenges along the way.”

In other words, the team working on Tales of Arise seeks to implement a “familiar but innovative gameplay” experience to veterans and newcomers alike. Furthermore, the team also wants to push the “technical envelope” to deliver “high graphical quality” to impress folks.

Moreover, although development has been going well on the JRPG, the coronavirus did have an impact on progress. Tomizawa expands on the fluctuating process the team has been facing when developing Tales of Arise:

While COVID-19 has affected some aspects of development, we’ve done our best to adapt to the situation and have implemented remote development capabilities for our team.

However, we will need more time to achieve the quality and provide the gorgeous experience we envision for our players, and therefore we decided to delay the launch timing for Tales of Arise.

A new launch window update will be provided once we have more details to share.

With that said, the game has no release window as of this moment. The good news is that the team will, one day, announce to gamers and fans a due date in the future.

Lastly, Tales of Arise will debut across PC via Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. Although the game no longer has a release date, it’s safe to assume that the JRPG will gain PS5 and Xbox Series X support.
