Bandai Namco To Air “Play Anime Live” Digital Event On July 22nd, 2020

Bandai Namco is gearing up to host its own digital event late next month. It’s unclear what will be shown at this event, but going by its name, Play Anime Live, gamers and fans alike might be treated to upcoming games, expansions, and DLC related to anime that has connections to said company.

Sadly, not much else is known about Bandai Namco’s digital event that will replace the now-canceled E3 2020 show. Although there are hints sprinkled throughout the digital event’s name and description, nothing else is really known at this point and time.

What is known as of now is that Bandai Namco will air “Play Anime Live” on July 22nd in North America while Europe will be able to watch the digital event a day later on July 23rd, 2020.

This information comes from website nintendoeverything.com, as listed below:

  • 4:00 P.M. PT on July 22nd
  • 7:00 P.M. ET on July 22nd
  • 12:00 A.M. in the UK on July 23rd
  • 1:00 A.M. in Europe on July 23rd

The website also sourced the following information from an email that Bandai Namco sent out, which teases the event as being a “safe space” that will bring fans together through anime-inspired games, developer insights, and more:

“[Play Anime Live is] a fun, safe, and engaging space that brings together fans of anime-inspired games, offering exciting game updates, developer insights, and much more”.

So what can we take away from Bandai Namco’s Play Anime Live? Well, it will have a focus on anime-related games and developer interviews, while detailing updates related to “exciting games.” Currently, there’s no word on if new game announcement will be made or if the event will be solely about existing games, but we’ll likely find out moving forward.

As noted above, Bandai Namco will go live with its digital event “Play Anime Live” during the late part of July via twitch.tv and other social media platforms.
