Far Cry 6 Leaked On PSN HK, Reveals Free PS5, Xbox Series X Upgrade

A PSN Hong Kong listing for the long-rumored Far Cry 6 has gone up ahead of Ubisoft’s digital conference this Sunday. Since taken down, it revealed the game will participate in the generational upgrade. Allowing users who purchase the game for the current generation to receive a free upgrade when the next generation consoles are made available.

In addition, the listing revealed the game will continue to feature micro-transactions for the single-player experience. A bold move considering the United Kingdoms is moving rapidly to legislate both loot boxes and microtransactions, with the rest of the world poised to follow swiftly to justify their authority.

Beyond that, the game appears to be yet another cookie-cutter Ubisoft game.

Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution.

FIGHT FOR FREEDOM

Play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran and become a guerrilla fighter to liberate the nation

YARA TORN APART

Fight against Anton’s troops in the largest Far Cry playground to date across jungles, beaches and Esperanza the capital city of Yara

GUERRILLA FIREPOWER

Employ makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground

Ubisoft responded to the leak with a short video showcasing the main antagonist with the message of how he would not be pleased with this leak. The game’s full reveal will be this Sunday.

As evident in the teaser, Anton Castillo is very much black. For your average gamer, that is hardly a problem. After all, villains are judged not on the color of their skin, but the dastardliness of their deeds and the roundness of their character.

Ubisoft’s problem is not going to come from gamers but the media. When the company unveiled Mickey and Lou, the press went into overdrive, denouncing the characters as problematic because of their race and gender. Even today, the media continues to lie about the two characters. In the case of GameRant,  they describe the characters as committing evil for the sake of evil. Indicating no one at GameRant has actually played the game. Anyone who has played it can tell you while the sisters have a distinct raider gang vibe going for them, they hardly act without merit or reason.

If the reveal is not to the media’s liking or rather if it isn’t to the far left or black lives matter’s liking, Ubisoft is going to find itself under another hate campaign leading up to and beyond the game’s launch. Possibly worse for the company is if these people like it, then they will do everything in their power to disenfranchise other consumers by shutting down criticism or attacking people for being interested in the wrong elements.

Frankly, I can already hear the article headlines of the game being an alt-right dog whistle. No wait, it’s definitely a gesture towards white supremacists. Or perhaps this time they’ll be original with their smear campaign. Don’t feel sorry for Ubisoft, though. Beyond joining the ranks betraying America, they have announced they are tripling down on diversity. Just content yourself with watching the left eat itself.
