Amazon Games Partners With Smilegate RPG To Release New Game In 2021

Amazon Games has released a blog post detailing how it has entered a publishing agreement with Smilegate RPG. This exclusive publishing deal will mark the beginning of the two companies releasing a new game next year.

Smilegate is the parent company of Smilegate RPG and is the creator of both CrossFire and CrossFire X, which the former title is touted as “the world’s largest first-person online shooter game and one of the most played online games in the world.”

Moreover, CrossFire has over 670 million registered users and more than 8 million concurrent players globally, something that Smilegate is not shy to boast about given that the company is known as “the leading developer of PC online and mobile games” in the games industry.

Whether or not you agree with the above sentiment, Amazon Games believes that it can do wonders with Smilegate RPG as noted below:

“Smilegate has a strong track record of creating big games that players love, built to offer years of enjoyment — exactly the type of best-in-class, living, growing online games we want to bring our customers.”

The above quote comes from Christoph Hartmann — VP of Amazon. Additionally, he also had this to say about Amazon Games working with Smilegate RPG:

“Amazon Games is committed to bringing our customers the most engaging game experiences, both through our own internal development teams and from the very best external development studios around the world.”

Chi Won Gil, CEO of Smilegate RPG, had the following to say about the current deal that’s unfolding:

“Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games will combine our respective expertise to introduce one of our AAA games to Western players. Amazon Games is uniquely positioned as a publisher to reach entirely new audiences through its deep commitment to customers and substantial games publishing resources and channels, including Twitch, Prime Gaming, AWS, and more.”

Last but not least, more info on the collaboration between the two companies will unfold moving into 2021. In the meantime, you can read over the newly posted blog post by hitting up amazongames.com.
