Vampire The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Delayed To 2021

Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2

Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs’ Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has officially been delayed. Originally the game was due for release at some point in 2020, but the studio recently announced that the game was being pushed back to 2021 to improve the overall quality of the product.

The news was announced via a tweet on August 11th, 2020.

If you’re unable to read the message in the tweet, the image reads…

“Our goal has always been to deliver the best game possible, to immerse you into a Seattle re-imagined in the World of Darkness, and deliver a worthy successor to the original Bloodlines game. Due to the quality bar and ambitions we have set for ourselves, we have made the difficult decision that we need more time. This means that our goal to release in 2020 is no longer possible. Moving launch is one of the changes we are making to ensure the best player experience possible.

“This is not a decision taken lightly nor is it the first option we considered. We wil share more information in the coming months on launch timing and other organizational changes that will help us achieve this goal.

“We understand that this will be a disappointment to many of you, but we also appreciate how our ambition is echoed through many parts of the community. We hope you understand that, while difficult, this is the right call.”

This wasn’t the first time that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been delayed. Originally the game was due out during the first quarter of 2020, but back in October of 2019 they announced that they would be launching later into 2020. And now that we’re later into 2020, they’re announcing that they’re targeting 2021.

The game has been steeped in a lot of the wrong kinds of controversy, with the studio announcing that they would have trigger warnings for content that might be too much for weak-hearted Liberal Progressives, and they also censored the Steam forums for criticizing the game’s politics.

Don’t expect anything good coming out of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 given that the underwhelming gameplay they’ve showcased so far is completely passe while the graphics are forgettable.

Then again, if you enjoy games that don’t push boundaries and graphics that look a decade old, I suppose you’ll likely enjoy Bloodlines… whenever it releases.
