The ultimate Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Review

Is it too late if we do the assassin’s creed odyssey review now? Well…no if your reason is to feel the excitement of this game as if you played it for the first time again.

Ubisoft is going hot with this game because the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a way for them to climb up to the top. I mean, they made it through, the game is huge and definitely an improvement from the previous game (like the Assassin’s Creed Unity, for example). Right after its release in 2018, assassins creed odyssey becomes game-changing, especially within the franchise. The game itself isn’t like what we used to know – new gameplay, new gameplay system, bigger maps (like, seriously!) and improved graphics.

Despite its being released a few years ago, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey still holds its high rating even to this day. There are lots of reasons for that, but the biggest will be the pricing that is appealing for every gamer and Assassin’s Creed fans who have this game but have a limited budget.

Doing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Review was definitely one of the most satisfying experiences that I ever felt. Before, I thought Ubisoft never made anything that is compatible with Assassin’s Creed II and the Assassin’s Creed Revelations. There are many reasons that I can point out right after finishing the 60+ hours playing the AC Odyssey. Shall we head down for the real assassin’s creed odyssey review? Here we go:

The Odyssey Creed

The story of the odyssey assassin’s creed begins 480 BC ago where king Leonidas began to defend the Persian army during the battle of Thermopylae. With the power of the main character, King Leonidas won the battle but learn the truth that the Persian Army hold the knowledge of the path to enter the city. The story went fast forward to the year 2018 when Layla Hassan recovers Leonidas’ Spear and gets the DNA of his granddaughter.

Here’s the interesting part. The Creed Odyssey gives you the freedom to choose between two different characters – Alexios or Kassandra. The system that never existed in the previous AC Creed. Well, even the characters are different, but the story remains the same. It’s just a matter of perspective that you like. For me, Kassandra got a strong aura as an assassin than Alexios. But it’s my perspective though, you need to choose which one you like.

It’s like walking through the fairy tale

I mean, the AC Odyssey is a game that is set in an ancient world of Greek where mythology creatures exist to be slain. No kidding, even you can find Medusa and, um, murder her for a quest.

Albeit the main story, one of the good points of the story is you can find your own ending throughout the game. Every action and reaction is chosen depending on what you choose as the answer in the dialogue box. This very system can also determine what the surroundings react toward you. This little thing is just simply mesmerizing!

This game isn’t that boring – it’s fun!

As part of my ac odyssey review, I will need to include my personal opinion about the game right, let’s start by saying this game is not that boring overall.

My knowledge about the Assassin’s Creed game is just different. What I know is this game is all about stealthy sneaking and killing the enemies without people noticing. Compared to this one, stealthiness (read: assassin) is the type of skill that you can improve as long as you level up. It’s not bad though because the game still involves some sneaking and the enemies’ difficulty will depend on how high your skill status is.

Gaining EXP and improving yourself to become either an assassin, hunter, or even warrior. The choice is yours and the freedom is limitless here.

Oh, did I also mention the naval battle? Yeap… the gameplay system firstly appears in Assassin’s Creed 3. And since then, people love it and Ubisoft decides to put it within the game. It’s a smart move, to be honest since it’s one of the ways to explore the game.

Did I mention the map?

The map size is tremendously big! When I say that, I mean it. I could do hours of assassin’s creed odyssey review just on the map alone.

The size of the map itself is as big as 91 square miles (146 kilometers). That means it’s bigger than the Skyrim maps which are 15 miles, or even bigger than the GTA V map which is 29 miles. The landmark consists of an island and the sea and you can reach the neighborhood island while sailing the battleship. Then going through the dry land with feet or horses – you choose.

Alright, you piqued my interest. I wanna get the game but where?

Game-wise, the assassin’s creed odyssey is widely available but worries not, the stories are the same between one another. The difference is just in the graphics – some people will choose the PC version because they can enhance or just tune it down for better performance. Unlike the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey PS4, the settings are unchangeable; it might affect the FPS. Similar things happen with the Assassin’s Creed Xbox Version. Because of that, the PC version is enough for me that you can buy on Steam.

Aside from the availability, the price is also different (sometimes) due to recent promotions from each platform.

More than 6 GB of additional storage may be used for the installation of this game. If you are playing on Windows, please ensure you have at least 6GB of system memory. From February 21st, 2018, if playing on Windows XP or Windows Vista OS, you will require a graphics card that supports DirectX 10.

If you meet the system requirements, I have personally tried to run the game on Windows 7 and it works well, although there are a few minor issues with controls input.

Are there any cheats available?

Tired of playing by the same system? Want to play outside the rule? I don’t mean you need to play it legally though (wink) because there are many trainers, mods, and cheats you can try for this game!

Assassin’s creed odyssey cheat engines, trainers, and mods are the thing that is widely used for PC gamers, like it or not. I mean, when you choose the highest difficulty level but your survival rate is slow, sometimes you need a bit of ‘hacking’.

The Overall conclusion of this ac odyssey review

The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is definitely a better game compared to the other assassin’s creed that was released before this (except the Origins). I believe this is the way Ubisoft is trying to retain its position as one of the best game publishers and it works! This game is better, more creative, and more interactive. With more advanced gameplay and stories, it made me want to play again and again and again. Maybe I will come up with more things that aren’t discovered yet. Who knows. But let’s see then 🙂

Commonly asked questions for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey review:

how much is assassin’s creed odyssey?

Ac odyssey’s price is currently at around $15.00 USD on Steam and Ubisoft store.

where does the assassin’s creed odyssey take place?

The ancient Greek world is the setting for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. You play as a mercenary, out to seek revenge on those who killed your family. With this quest, you will visit familiar locations such as Athens and Sparta, but also many exotic new areas like mystical Delphi and thriving Metapontum.

is ac odyssey worth it?

In my opinion, yes, ac odyssey is definitely worth it. The game is absolutely massive, with tons of content to go through and a pretty decent price tag to go with it, considering all the items you get. It’s not the perfect game out there, but I think for what you’re getting – 15$, it’s more than worth it.

how to play assassin’s creed odyssey?

The first thing you need to do is buy the game. Once you have the game, you need to install it on your computer or console. After the game is installed, you can create a new profile or load an existing one. Once you are in the game, there are three main ways to play: story missions, side missions, and world activities. The story missions are the main quests that progress the plot. Side missions are optional quests that can be completed for rewards. World activities are random events that happen in the world and can be completed for rewards.

how long is the assassin’s creed odyssey?

I spent around 30 hours in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and managed to complete the main story while also slowing down to smell the roses. This is the longest AC game yet and that doesn’t include all of the side content you can get up to in ancient Greece (I spent a little over 40 hours and didn’t even get close).

why the assassin’s creed odyssey is bad?

The game is actually not that bad when you first start playing it. However, once you get further into the game, you will start to realize how shallow and repetitive the gameplay is. There is hardly any variety in what you can do, and the story is very lackluster. Ubisoft tried to cram in as much content as possible without really making sure that it all worked well together, and this is I think the major flaw of the game. but apart from those, I think it’s not a bad game.
