Spider-man Exclusivity Backfires for Marvel’s Avengers

Doesn’t anyone remember a GaaS Avengers game is coming out? No seriously, I’ve seen more buzz in bee colonies after Colony Collapse Disorder and more anticipation from blindfolded Uighurs being sent to one of China’s beautiful summer camps. That’s not hyperbole… okay maybe it is, but a cursory look at the game’s YouTube channel’s views reveal a strong disinterest in the game by the general audience. Battletoads Official Release Trailer Brings Current Year Cal Art-Style Front And Center

The abomination not only lives but continues to desecrate the very essence of Battletoads. The bad bunch of boys or toads are no longer the hardcore metal oozing amphibians ready to turn their adversaries inside out. Instead, Microsoft and Dlala Studios (with the assistance of Rare Studios) unabashedly took current year artwork that you’d find on Cartoon Network and made a new Battletoads game for PC and Xbox One come August 20th, 2020. Fight’N Rage Review: What Streets Of Rage 4 Should Have Been

Title: Fight’N Rage
Genre: Beat’em-up
Players: 1 – 3
Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC (Reviewed)
Developer: SebaGamesDev, BlitWorks
Release Date: September 19th, 2017

I like some of what LizardCube, Guard Crush and DotEmu did with Streets of Rage 4. The art is mostly well done, and the basic fighting system can be generally enjoyable, with some decent’ish stages. But my biggest gripe with the game is that outside of the Streets of Rage 3 characters, none of the other default characters have the basic means to get out of the way, properly parry, or dodge attacks – with the exception of Cherry being able to run and Adam being able to do a light hop left or right. This creates quite the conundrum on the harder difficulty settings where you just can’t get out of the way in time or you have no way of defending yourself against incoming attacks. Project Heat, Sexy Beat-‘Em-Up Is In Development

Project Heat

Beat-’em-up games are in short supply these days. Most are Brazilian-made spawns from the OpenBOR project, while the rest are scatterings of remakes, remasters, redos, or re-sequels from existing franchises. Very rarely do we get quality made beat-’em-up titles, and even rarer than that do we get NSFW beat-’em-up titles that can stand the test of time alongside greats such as Phantom Breakers EX, Crime Fighters, Super Double Dragon or Streets of Rage. Developer Next Level Games

As you know, newer games are all pozzed so I’ve been going through my back catalog to play some of the titles I missed from the yesteryears before Social Justice Warriors co-opted the entire media industry. One such game that caught my eye was Next Level Games’ tie-in to the live-action super hero flick, Captain America: First Avenger. Streets Of Rage 4 Will Include 12 Unlockable Retro Characters

Streets of Rage 4

I haven’t been the biggest fan of DotEmu and Lizard Cube’s take on Streets of Rage. Some of their design decisions aren’t just questionable, they’ve been downright appalling. However, the latest trailer for the game has won me over because it reveals that there will be 12 playable characters, including unlockable characters from all the past Streets of Rage titles on the Sega Genesis.
