One of the most brutal and hardest 16-bit inspired games to have come out back in March of this year is Hyper Light Drifter, and the game is set to hit PS4 and Xbox One on July 26th. Heart Machine announced this information to gaming site Gematsu, who reported that the top-down action RPG’s console release will arrive this month.
I’m sure most of Hyper Light Drifter fans already know some details as to when the game will drop for consoles, but to actually see a confirmation by the devs about their hit project, Hyper Light Drifter, and its release date is something very solid to go by. Console folks excited about the release will be able to snag a copy next week and a few days from now.
I should note that the development team already announced that they were going to release a console version both for PS4 and Xbox One, but never gave a precise date when the title was going to drop for said systems.
Furthermore, if you don’t know what the game is about, it follows a single warrior-like character that goes by the title of a Drifter. Players obtain specials abilities along the way while going through various segments and searching for secrets, as they travel through a desolate land.
Hyper Light Drifter also follows traditional RPG rules with upgrading weapons, learning new skills and discovering better equipment so that you can traverse the desolate dangerous land with a higher success rate of surviving.
Lastly, the game is available to play right now by heading over to Steam, which is currently restricted to PC as of this writing. The Console versions (for PS4 and Xbox One) will be available to play later this month on July 26th.
